SS24 at Joshua Tree House
Last year we shot our SS24 collection at Joshua Tree House designed and created by Sara & Rich Combs. As a team we went there for a work trip and came out enriched by the experience we had while we worked and stayed there. Also, we hadn’t expected the photos to come out as good as they did. We realized that the reason was the vibrant colors of the clothes that define our SS24 collection that were standing out over the monochromatic desert in the background. The garments that make SS24 are made with soft cotton fabric, which makes it very light and easy to wear and carry around. Also, because of the lightness of the fabric you won’t feel hot or suffocated in the clothes. Joshua Tree House is a vacation home in the middle of the desert and it has its own charm & identity and still it blends with nature due to how it’s made. In the same way, our Spring Summer collection is designed in a way that it will blend with nature and you will still stand-out in those clothes making your photos look good. When it comes to styling, these garments are made keeping in mind the different ways you can style your clothes by layering it up depending on the time of the day. For example, during the afternoon the sun is overhead, so you can easily pair it with your favorite hat; in the night when it gets chilly you can layer it up with a coat or a sweater and still look good. Our clothes like ‘Oversized Cloud Dress’ or ‘Zebra Stroll Pants’ can also be worn on top of your bikini or swimsuit. And our staples like ‘Whimsy Doodle Polka Skirt’ can be worn two to three in a single trip by styling it differently each time you wear it. So, it’s easy to say that the SS24 collection would be the ideal capsule wardrobe for you this summer season.
Made to Order
At World of Crow, we always continue to rethink traditional ways of doing things and try to improvise those ways in alignment to the requirements of the modern world. Since 2021, in order to avoid overconsumption and completely negate dead stock, we produce our garments as and only when we get their order. Then after getting the order, the cloth is cut, stitched and hand finished. Then it is packaged in a bag made by the handicapped people of an organization that we work with. Lastly, to offset the carbon footprint caused by our shipments, we have partnered with Native energy. From 2021, they had calculated the 50 packages a month, weighing about 2 pounds each, and traveling about 8000 miles to be equivalent to a carbon factor of 1 tonne per month. Their offsets projects are priced at $15.50/tonne (for the most part), so they would be looking at between $15.50 to $18.00 (depending on the project chosen) for the month or $186 and $216 for the year. At our website you can also even out your carbon footprint in the column named Carbon Offset. Some Other Measures That We Take To Make the Process of Garment Making Sustainable & Efficient We make the whole garment from start to finish at our own workshop, under one roof in a tiny space of 1200 square feet. Thus nullifying the cost spent on travel and making the process smoother and faster also easier to supervise by the team. All our supplies and tailoring materials are bought from nearby local shops. Thus, giving wages to local people instead of big companies. We give preference to our employees and give them as much work as possible which they are capable of taking up. This way, they are able to generate extra income by working extra hours. These are the few ways we attempt to make the process of cloth making a little more sustainable and efficient. And tweaking those traditional ways as we become more informed and aware as a company.

The fabric selection can make a significant difference in how you feel during those hot summer days. In this article, we'll explore the best choices for summer fabrics, with a focus on organic, eco-friendly, and sustainable options The Importance of Fabric Selection When the summer heat is on, the type of fabric you choose can impact your overall comfort level. The right fabric allows your skin to breathe and helps in regulating body temperature. It's essential to prioritize natural, breathable materials to stay cool throughout the season. When selecting summer clothing, prioritize breathability to avoid feeling sweaty and uncomfortable. Lightweight and Airy Fabrics Lightweight and airy fabrics are perfect for hot summer days. Look for materials like chiffon, gauze, and organza that have a loose weave and offer a weightless feel. These fabrics not only keep you cool but also add an elegant touch to your summer wardrobe. Moisture-Wicking Fabrics Moisture-wicking fabrics are a blessing during the summer months. They pull moisture away from the skin and help it evaporate quickly, keeping you dry and fresh. Seek out moisture-wicking properties in activewear, athletic clothing, and everyday summer wear. Organic Cotton Pants vs Conventional: Which Is Better for You and the Planet?
As more and more people become conscious of their environmental impact and strive to make sustainable choices, the fashion industry is experiencing a paradigm shift towards eco-friendly practices. One area that has gained significant attention is the production of clothing, particularly when it comes to choosing between organic cotton pants and conventional ones. In this article, we will explore the key differences between organic and conventional cotton pants, shedding light on their environmental impact, manufacturing processes, and why making an informed choice matters. Let's delve into the world of sustainable fashion The Rise of Organic Cotton Pants What is Organic Cotton? Organic cotton is cultivated using methods that emphasize biodiversity and the preservation of natural resources. Unlike conventional cotton farming, which heavily relies on pesticides, herbicides, and synthetic fertilizers, organic cotton is grown using natural alternatives. This approach helps maintain soil fertility, reduces water consumption, and promotes a healthier ecosystem. Read more: Why Cotton Dresses Are Perfect for Summer The Benefits of Organic Cotton Pants 1. Environmental Impact Organic cotton pants have a significantly lower environmental impact compared to their conventional counterparts. By avoiding the use of harmful chemicals, organic cotton farming protects soil health and prevents water pollution. Additionally, it contributes to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, making it a more sustainable option for eco-conscious consumers. 2. Safer for Farmers and Workers Conventional cotton farming involves the extensive use of hazardous chemicals that can pose serious health risks to farmers and workers. On the other hand, organic cotton cultivation prioritizes the well-being of those involved in the process by ensuring a safer working environment. 3. High-Quality and Durable Organic cotton pants are renowned for their exceptional quality and durability. The absence of synthetic chemicals in the manufacturing process ensures that the fibers remain strong, resulting in clothing that lasts longer and withstands wear and tear. 4. Biodegradability Another advantage of organic cotton pants is their biodegradability. When disposed of, they break down naturally without leaving harmful residues, reducing the burden on landfills and contributing to a circular economy. Understanding Conventional Cotton Pants Conventional Cotton Farming Practices Conventional cotton farming follows more conventional agricultural practices that heavily rely on synthetic inputs such as pesticides, insecticides, and genetically modified seeds. While this approach may lead to higher crop yields, it comes at a significant cost to the environment and human health. Read more: Eco-Friendly Cotton Dresses for Sustainable Summer Fashion The Environmental Impact of Conventional Cotton Pants 1. Chemical Use and Water Pollution Conventional cotton farming accounts for a considerable percentage of global pesticide and insecticide usage. These chemicals not only contaminate water sources but also harm non-target organisms, including beneficial insects and wildlife. 2. Soil Degradation The use of synthetic fertilizers in conventional cotton farming depletes soil fertility over time. This degradation results in reduced agricultural productivity and can lead to desertification in some regions. 3. Health Hazards Farmers and workers involved in conventional cotton farming are exposed to toxic chemicals, which can cause a range of health issues, from skin irritation to respiratory problems and even more severe conditions. The Case for Making an Informed Choice Choosing between organic cotton pants and conventional ones is not just a matter of personal preference; it can significantly impact the environment and the lives of people involved in the supply chain. Making an informed choice allows consumers to align their values with their purchasing decisions and contribute to positive change. How to Make the Switch to Organic Cotton Pants 1. Educate Yourself Start by learning about the benefits of organic cotton and the environmental impact of conventional cotton farming. Understanding the differences will empower you to make more conscious choices when shopping for clothing. 2. Check Labels and Certifications Look for reputable certifications such as GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) when purchasing organic cotton pants. These labels ensure that the product meets specific organic and environmental criteria. 3. Support Ethical Brands Research and support brands that prioritize sustainable and ethical practices. Seek out companies that are committed to reducing their carbon footprint, promoting fair labor practices, and using eco-friendly materials. 4.
