How did your interest in fashion and personal style first begin?

Personal style, for me, is like a muscle I’ve been building all my life. It’s instinctual, but also something I consciously exercise. I’ve always loved fashion and the act of getting dressed—it’s never been superficial, it’s always felt essential.

I remember showing up to painting class in a silk skirt and being teased by my classmates. Apparently, art school wasn’t the place to be original. But even then, I didn’t dress for approval. I dressed to feel rooted in myself. Clothing has always been my way of stepping into confidence and claiming space.

What inspires your everyday wardrobe?

I think Iris Apfel said it best—she went through life like a sponge, absorbing everything, then squeezing it back out. That’s how I approach style. It’s part memory, part mood, part imagination.

I’m inspired by people who live unapologetically as themselves: Audrey Hepburn’s timeless simplicity, Joan Didion’s quiet chic, Steve McQueen’s effortless cool, Jenna Lyons’ fearless rule-breaking, Jack Kerouac’s poetic workwear. They didn’t wear clothes for approval; they wore clothes that reflected a point of view.

Living on the West Coast shifted my style, too. It gave me permission to be bolder, more playful, more colorful. Now I don’t save things for “someday”—I wear my jewelry daily, I mix categories, I reimagine what clothes can be. That freedom is something I hope to pass on to my daughter: that fashion can be fun, expressive, and a tool for confidence.

If you had to describe your style in three words?

Colorful, joyful, free.

Connection with World of Crow

How did you first discover World of Crow?

I discovered World of Crow through their work with artisans. I was immediately drawn to their ethos—it felt honest and soulful. Clothes made with care, intention, and community. Collaborating with a brand that celebrates craft and slow fashion, and values the stories woven into each piece, felt natural.

What excites you most about slow fashion?

It means everything to me to work with brands that are mindful in their making. With World of Crow, you can feel the care—in the fabric, the stitching, the way the clothes move. Wearing these pieces feels good, not just because of how they look, but because of what they represent.

Was there a particular Crow philosophy that made you feel connected?

Yes—the philosophy of simplicity with depth. The silhouettes look effortless, but when you look closer, there’s richness in the textures and thought in the details. It feels both universal and personal, which is exactly the kind of connection I want in my wardrobe.

Designing the Collection

What mood did you want the collection to capture?

This collection is deeply inspired by Frida Kahlo—her fearless artistry, her iconic style. I wanted to celebrate that boldness. We played with color, texture, and detail to create pieces that spark joy: a vibrant palette balanced with soft, feminine silhouettes. Everything is designed to be mixed, matched, and reimagined into an endless, effortless capsule.

Which fabrics or colors were essential from the start?

Rich, saturated hues and textured fabrics. I wanted textiles that felt alive—pieces that carried depth and presence, that could be both statement-making and versatile.

Which silhouette feels most personal to you?

The skirts and pants. They’re endlessly versatile and mirror how I dress every day—sometimes casual, sometimes elevated, often both.

Was there an image or theme guiding you?

Yes—Frida in her garden, surrounded by color, unapologetically herself. That image anchored me as we designed. I wanted the same sense of freedom and beauty woven through these pieces.

Wearability & Styling

Which piece do you imagine wearing most, and how would you style it?

The skirt and pants—I’ll live in them. I see them with flats and a tee for the day, and then with heels and a bold lip at night. Effortless, but with personality.

Any unexpected layering or accessorizing tips?

Yes—accessories change everything. We designed belts in the collection’s colors and patterns that transform each piece, adding polish and fun. And of course, jewelry. Clothes are the canvas, jewelry is the punctuation.

How do you see these designs fitting into different lifestyles?

The silhouettes are universal—they can be layered, dressed up or down, and move with you wherever you are. They’re designed to adapt to different climates, ages, and lifestyles.

Inspiration & Future

Who or what has shaped your approach to fashion?

Living on the West Coast freed me—it made me bolder, more colorful, more playful. I stopped saving things for special occasions and started wearing beauty every day. That shift—toward dressing for joy—is what I hope to pass on to my daughter.

What do you hope people feel when they wear this collection?

Confidence. Joy. A spark of creativity in their wardrobes. That’s the heart of it: fashion that makes getting dressed feel exciting again.

Where would you love to explore for a future project?

India will always inspire me—the depth of craft, the history, the textiles. But I’d also love to explore Mexico more deeply, especially after drawing on Frida for this collection. Its layered craft traditions are endlessly inspiring.

One lesson you’d share with others?

Don’t wait to wear the good things. Life is too short to save the beautiful dress or the special piece of jewelry. Wear it now. That shift—from saving to savoring—makes getting dressed infinitely more joyful.
