Home Essentials
Our cushions and throws are hand spun, hand knit and naturally dyed by skilled women in the Himalayas. They take good care in every step. They use special local wool from nomads called Gaddis, who travel to our village from summer to fall. The wool is called "desi oon," a mix of different Gaddi breeds.
The hardworking women artisans clean and sort the wool with great care. After that, they take the fibers to Kullu for carding. Then, we spin the wool at home using a special tool called a takhli, making each piece unique.
We care about nature, so we get materials for dyeing from the orchards and fields around the villages. The yarns are dyed with local plants found in the mountains during different seasons. The result is a beautiful collection of naturally colored yarns that are handwoven into beautiful products.
The collection reflects the traditions and skills of our community, bringing you something special and warm. Check out the handmade artistry of these amazing women artisans at worldofcrow.com.
